Radars | How to Change Cables on a PTU Radar

Changing the Cable (PTU)

  1. Power down the radar before disconnecting any cables.
  2. Using a T20 Torx screwdriver, remove the screw securing the front cover. Open the cover carefully.

  3. Locate the CAT6 cable connected to the RJ45 Ethernet port

  4. Press the RJ45 locking tab and disconnect the existing CAT6 cable from the radar.
  5. Disconnect the opposite end of the CAT6 cable from the corresponding port on the patch panel.
  6. Route the replacement CAT6 cable along the same path as the original cable.
  7. Connect one end of the new CAT6 cable to the radar's RJ45 Ethernet port until it clicks securely into place.
  8. Connect the other end of the new CAT6 cable to the same port on the patch panel that the original cable was connected to.
  9. Verify that both cable connections are fully seated and ensure the cable is routed without excessive tension or sharp bends.
  10. Reinstall the cover and secure it using the T20 Torx screw.

Restore power to the radar and verify that network connectivity has been reestablished and the radar is operating normally.
