This guide explains how to identify, and factory reset a UniFi switch during troubleshooting.
Identifying the UniFi Switch
UniFi switches typically have multiple Ethernet ports arranged across the front panel.
Refer to the picture below to identify the UniFi switch and locate its RESET button.
Before proceeding, make sure you have identified the correct device and not the Dream Machine Pro (DMP), which looks similar but is usually labelled DREAM MACHINE on the front panel.
How to Factory Reset the UniFi Switch
- Ensure the UniFi switch is powered on.
- Locate the small RESET button, as shown in the reference picture.
- Using a paperclip or SIM-eject tool, gently press and hold the RESET button for approximately 5–10 seconds to initiate the factory reset.
- Release the button and allow the switch to complete the reset and reboot.
A factory reset erases the switch's configuration and may require it to be readopted and reconfigured internally. Only perform this procedure when instructed by Trackman Support.
Connected devices will temporarily lose connectivity during the reset.
Please note, the reference picture is an example only. Always confirm that you have identified the correct device before proceeding.
