Radars | Platform Radar Keypad Lights 🟧

This document explains what the different buttons and lights on the Platform Radar keypad mean. If you’re new to it, think of it as the “dashboard” of the radar: each button or light is giving you a signal about what’s happening.

Power Button

  • Short press (< 1 second, while OFF): Shows the battery level for 3 seconds (not available on all units).
  • Long press (> 2 seconds, while OFF): Turns the radar ON.
  • Long press (> 2 seconds, while ON): Shuts the radar down safely.
  • Very long press (> 7 seconds): Forces the radar to power off immediately.

Status / Information Light (RGB LED)

This light tells you the radar’s overall state:

  • OFF: Radar is powered off.
  • Flashing Yellow (slow): Radar is starting up (booting).
  • Solid Yellow: Radar is shutting down.
  • Flashing Green (slow): Radar is on but idle.
  • Solid Green: Radar is armed and ready.
  • Flashing Red/Green (fast): Rescue/Safe mode.

LAN (Network) Light

Shows the status of the radar’s wired or wireless connection:

  • OFF: No activity.
  • Blinking Amber: Data activity at 1000 Mbps (1 Gbps).
  • Blinking Green: Data activity at 100 Mbps.
  • Solid Amber: Connected at 1000 Mbps.
  • Solid Green: Connected at 100 Mbps.
  • Solid Blue: WiFi enabled.

Warning Light

Alerts you if the radar needs attention:

  • OFF: Everything is fine.
  • Flashing Green (fast): Software is updating.
  • Solid Orange: Radar needs attention.
  • Solid Red: Radar is not working.
  • Flashing Red (slow): Radar failed to start.

Battery Indicator (5 LEDs)

Five small green lights show how much charge the battery has.

When Discharging (running on battery):

  • OFF: No battery detected.
  • LED 1 flashing: 1–6% charge.
  • LED 1 solid: 7–19% charge.
  • LED 2 solid: 20–39% charge.
  • LED 3 solid: 40–59% charge.
  • LED 4 solid: 60–79% charge.
  • LED 5 solid: 80–100% charge.

When Charging:

  • LEDs light up in sequence, with the last one flashing to show progress.
  • 1 flashing: 1–19% charging.
  • 1 solid, 2 flashing: 20–39% charging.
  • 1–2 solid, 3 flashing: 40–59% charging.
  • 1–3 solid, 4 flashing: 60–79% charging.
  • 1–4 solid, 5 flashing: 80–100% charging.

Quick Summary

  • Power button = Turn radar on/off.
  • Status light = Radar state (off, starting, idle, armed, safe mode).
  • LAN light = Internet/network activity.
  • Warning light = Errors or updates.
  • Battery lights = Show battery percentage and charging progress.
