Radars | How to Replace the SFP in a PTU Radar

The connection point of where the fiber meets the radar is a replaceable object. If it breaks, we can send out a new part (SFP) to have the customer replace it. The SFP will look this:

If you need to replace the SFP, you will need to follow these steps:

  8. This is where you take out the new SFP out of the box it comes in. It will come with a black rubber protection covering the place where the fiber connects, ensure you take this off:

  9. Now, you can insert the new SFP into the slot. It can only be inserted one way, if it does not bottom out, it’s inserted the wrong way. Once it’s in properly, you should feel and hear a click.
  10. Now the fiber cables can be plugged back in.
