Proper server room maintenance is essential for ensuring stable performance of Trackman systems. Since radar units, servers, and networking equipment run continuously, maintaining the right environment directly impacts system reliability.
Environment
The server room must be secure, clean, and climate-controlled:
- Internal temperature of the server: up to 80°C
- Temperature of the server room: between 10°C to 30°C
- Continuous air conditioning is required
- Humidity: 40–60%
Overheating is one of the most common causes of system failure.
Dust and Cooling
Dust buildup can block airflow and lead to overheating.
- Keep the room clean and dust-free
- Regularly clean surfaces and air filters
- Ensure proper airflow around all equipment
Fan Maintenance
- Cooling fans must be kept clean to maintain proper temperature.
- Replacement fans can be provided if needed, and a video guide will show how to replace them correctly.
It is the facility’s responsibility to clean and maintain fans and ensure proper cooling conditions.
Airflow and Setup
- Do not block vents or airflow paths
- Avoid overcrowding racks
- Ensure proper spacing between devices
Power and Cabling
- Use UPS systems to protect against outages
- Avoid overloading circuits
- Keep cables organized and clearly labeled
Monitoring and Checks
Monitor systems via Grafana and dashboards
Regularly check:
- Temperature
- Equipment status
- Connections and cabling
Responsibility
Facilities are responsible for maintaining proper environmental conditions, including cooling and cleanliness.
If a render server fails due to poor maintenance (e.g., dust buildup or overheating), Trackman reserves the right to invoice for a replacement server.
